Affiliate Programs - The Top 5 Reasons You Should Promote Affiliate Products

Affiliate programs can be a great way to supplement your income or create a very lucrative income stream. There are more reasons than you think for why you should join affiliate programs. Over the years, I have worked with many affiliate newbie's and have explained the reasons why I think people should join affiliate programs. I have included my top 5 reasons why you should join an affiliate program below.

1.    Instant Startup

The great thing about an affiliate program is that the sales platform is flexible and you can promote affiliate products by just enabling someone to click on a link. Most of the sales platform you can choose for an online business can be instantly started with not much work. Most large domain registrars and hosting companies have really automated the setup process for domain names, web sites and blogs.

2.    Low Overheard

Promoting affiliate products can be done many different ways and at a very low cost. For example, if you choose to use a web site or blog for promoting an affiliate product, you just need to register a domain name and sign up for a monthly web site or blog hosting account. One of the better places to get a domain name and host at a low monthly cost is Godaddy.com. For example, a web site or WordPress Blog hosting account is $4.99 a month. You can also choose to host a blog on a blog hosting network that is free. The other initial startup costs and yearly renew costs will be for a domain name if you choose to have your web site or blog use its own unique domain name.

3.    High Payout Versus The Amount Of Setup Time, Maintenance, And Monthly Cost

The payout of promoting affiliate products can easily offset the amount of setup time, maintenance, and monthly cost you will have. Promoting affiliate products can be very lucrative but it does time some work. You may get really lucky picking the right domain name and marketing to the right niche. But most of the time, you will need to work at it a bit to get enough of the right traffic coming to your web site or blog to make referral sales.

4.    Unlimited Income Potential

The one real benefit of affiliate programs is that there is no limit to the amount of money you can make. You can promote as many affiliate programs as you want on as many web sites, blogs, or Google AdWords campaigns you want to run.

5.    Can Sell Or Promote A Wide Range Of Products Or Services

Another great feature of affiliate programs is that you are in complete control of what you promote. You can promote just about any type of product or service you want. You should pick the type of product or service you are interested in and then start researching the best affiliate programs in that niche.

If you reached here via Google, chances are you've clicked through endless results pages and am growing tired of all the hyped-up product claiming to teach you how to be an affiliate marketer and shows you the amount of money you're gonna make.

Do you seriously want to learn affiliate marketing? To choose which program is best to learn affiliate marketing, there are certain criteria that you should follow in order to ascertain whether or not the training provides value.

To learn affiliate marketing isn't hard. There are many internet marketing forums that has many members contributing ideas about the best way to promote something online. The problem with this is that these information are not collated or gathered together in an easy-to-understand method.

Therefore, when choosing a good affiliate marketing training program, look for the following criteria:

1. Value for money. All training or education materials provide value of some sort, be it in the form of the knowledge it gives or the bonuses it has when you purchase it. Though there are many training programs that has recurring billing, I suggest choosing one that provides the most value in view of the cost. How? Look for whether the program provides you with tools that complement your internet marketing activities.

2. Tools. If the training doesn't come with resources and tools, for example keyword research, then most probably you have to invest in third party software like Keyword Elite yourself. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this. Then again ask yourself whether you'd prefer paying monthly for a keyword research tool for a fraction of the price or paying a huge lump sum for a keyword research software.

3. Resources. See whether the training provides training modules for you to follow on your own pace. Most do provide these, but then again the pace and level of information might differ. You'd want to choose one that has an executable and realistic action plan that covers a long duration for your own comfort.

4. Community. A good training program comes with its own forum of some sort where members can interact, share ideas and contribute to the general process of learning. There must be some sort of interaction and sharing of knowledge. If everyone keeps the knowledge to himself or herself, education becomes ineffective and you could only rely on the training modules, which aren't really recommended in this case.

5. Constantly updated training material. The resources and guides provided has to be at least updated once a year in order to keep up with changing times. Constantly updated resources and materials show that the mentors are doing their best to provide value for money, which coincides with our point number 1.
